What does the Memphis Crime Watch Program Do? Educates residence in crime deterrence. The program depends on knowing your neighbors and having communication with your neighbors, block captains, district captains, and the local police department. How Do I Get Involved? Contact J.R. Helm to find out what district you live in and contact your district captain. Come to the meeting November 10th 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church. What Happens at the Meetings? Citizen updates are given in how crime has been deterred in each neighborhood. Also, citizens are further educated in ways to "harden the target" and how to report suspicious activity to the police. Do the meetings consist of guest speakers? Yes, there have been different guest speakers each meeting. Judge Messer and the District Attorney explained laws and aspects of the legal ramifications pertaining to crimes of young people. Dan Hawthorn spoke on meth labs. Can members of the Memphis Crime Watch Program recommend a topic or speaker?
